RECENT ADVENTURE
"I took a raft down the
Tennessee
(not really)
with my rear-end hanging out of the
boat, in a somewhat meditative position.
Trying to understand river bliss.
It was important to look at it
before I embraced it,
in case it challenged my
already solidified notions.
The water, in which my
ample rear end poked,
was cold, and yet, the
sun was hot and the river steamy.
On my iPod was playing a line
in a familiar tune that says,
"picture yourself in a boat on a
river..."
As I lost balance and fell
backwards the music abruptly changed,
and I heard the next song in the sequence,
"nothing is real, nothing to get hung
about..."
I swam to shore."
